Birthdays and more

Life has been a little crazy, so like normal the blog gets set to the back burner. I still have more influential people to write about, but for times sake today I will just do a quick catch-up of April. April has always been a month with a lot of birthday's. When I was a kid I had several friends with birthday's in April, as well as both my grandmother's. Now we have 2 kids with birthday's in April too!

Cambree and her birthday loot! She wasn't sure what she was supposed to do with all this paper!

Lucky for her she has so many others who know exactly what to do...she didn't mind everyone else un-wrapping her presents!

Big smile for her cake, well more likely the fire on top of it!

She didn't want to dig in herself, but was ok with mommy feeding her the cake! All of my kids have been the same in this department!
My 2 one year olds. Trey and Cambree will always be the same age for about 2 weeks a year. I thought I should document the time they were both 1. Trey has turned into a bit of a stinker when it comes to having his picture taken. If it isn't his idea, he won't smile and typically not even look at the camera! Gotta love the independent and strong will of my children.

Trey's birthday celebration's weren't anything grand, but he's 2 and didn't mind a bit! He got a tractor and a monster truck shirt that he adores, plus some other things, but he wasn't as fond of those!

The weather was wonderful on Trey's birthday so we decided to take the family on a nice little hike up to Jump Creek. It was the perfect level of difficulty for little one's and heck for those of us who aren't in stellar shape either!

Crossing over to the other side. If we would have worn water shoes it would have been easier to just walk through the shallow water! Next time.

We bought this Kelty Back Pack carrier when James was a baby, finally used it. Cambree loved it!

Birthday boy fell in the water. It was really funny! He is very dramatic, I am sure he was cold, but he really wasn't that wet.

About 5 minutes after the major fall, he was all smiles since daddy rescued him and got him to the top of the big rock he was charging towards when he fell!

April has been a full, fun, and trying month like many others. Life is crazy, busy, and good at the Ward house. We have had lots of growing up this month. It is fun to look back 1 year from now and see how far we have come. To see that mom and dad are still somewhat sane is a good thing! All our kiddos are growing and learning new things and maturing.

Megan is almost done with 3rd grade! She has excelled in her academics and is becoming a better pianist as each week passes on. She is also moving right along towards those pre-teen years and her attitude, at times, accompanies that! We shall see how the next several years unfold!

James is maturing a lot lately. No, he still won't talk to just anyone, but he is becoming a bit more compassionate and helping his siblings out more. He is starting to be more interested in academics and is eager to start pre-school in the fall! He loves the outdoors and is a great helper!

Trey is full of energy and inquisitiveness! He has a strong will and a stubborn personality. Thankfully he is usually happy! Since he turned 2 he has really gotten more aggressive and I officially have a hitter here. We are working on taming his tendency to slug people, so sorry in advance if you fall victim to his fists!

Cambree is more vocal and engaging than all my other kiddos combined. She is loud, happy, and a smarty! She is the first child of mine to crawl-so that is a new adventure for us! Boy crawling babies get dirty, especially when they go outside and she loves to be outside! She is addicted to her bottle and will not drink milk from a cup-nothing new around here, but her being the baby, mom hasn't been as firm with taking the bottle away. Next week it is happening-this mom is more stubborn than little Miss!

One last batch of pictures. Clay went was invited to go on a Jet Boat fishing trip to go Sturgeon fishing. When they got to the river, it was too low, so they just ended up fishing in the dam. He caught several nice looking Crappie!
