Eating out

I still have several more influential people to add to my series, but thought I should maybe post a little about life around here too....I am one of those people who would much rather clean, organize, and de-junk than cook anything-well, anything except for chocolate chip cookies. That being said, my hubby and I have been working on going through everything in our house and getting rid of things that haven't been used or touched in at least 6 months. It is both a good and bad thing to have married someone who enjoys going through things too. Sometimes, I think he likes to organize and de-clutter more than I do!

We have been steadily working away-working slowly when all 3 littles are awake and at a an extremely rapid pace when 2 of the 3 are asleep! It is truly amazing how much you can get done, when you don't have little people un-doing all your work. My kids don't appear to have inherited their parents get rid of and minimize attitude. Tears have been shed over small and insignificant items that were given to the good will or sold on Craigslist!

Thankfully the weather has been absolutely beautiful this year-this has given our two energetic boys plenty of time to run and play outside while mom and dad continue to clean and de-clutter. After lots of friends and several visitors yesterday it was 6:30 pm and still no one had eaten dinner. We decided to go to Wendy's. Now let's just say we are a bit of a "scene" whenever we go out to eat. We need 2 high chairs, L-O-T-S of napkins, and usually 2 tables. At first we attempted to have all the kids sit at the table and wait patiently, or not so much, while both mom and dad ordered. This first plan didn't work out-so dad went to sit with the kids.

For about 2 minutes this worked well. But when you have hungry kids that have been playing hard for about 5+hours outside and it is almost bedtime, patience is not overly abundant. James decided he needed to pee while mom was still waiting for the food-not sure why it took so long-but it was like 15 minutes to get the food ordered and to the table. Anyhow, dad took James pee...Trey decided to stand up on the chair he was sitting in and start rocking it. I am sure you can see where this is going...yep he totally crashes to the floor-of course with his hands stuck between the bars. Megan is not quite sure what happened, Cambree is talking loudly, as she is known to do...and me, well I am not super close to offer much immediate assistance.

I head towards him, while another sweet lady in the restaurant races over, in a panic and picks him up. I knew he wasn't hurt-just scared. He has a thing for rocking chairs back and forth while standing up and this kind of thing has happened before. Sure he was screaming loudly and to the average by-stander it probably was a bit scary to witness. When you have more than one little child you learn quickly what is a serious cry and accident vs what isn't!

I thanked the kind lady, held him until he calmed down. Set him back on the chair and the little stinker attempted to do the exact same thing-I tell you he gets a thrill out of tipping chairs over! I was right there and extinguished his fun before he could repeat the whole incident again. We finally got our food, split everything up and fed the starving children. There were spills of drinks, food was thrown-some accidentally and some on purpose. Kids cried. Kids laughed. Kids screamed. Please and thank you's were said-some prompted and some without prompting. We used probably 50 napkins. Tummies were full. The trash was placed in the garbage and we paraded out. It is always an adventure to go in public. Some trips are good and uneventful, whereas others are full of excitement!
